Volunteer in Liberia
IMANI HOUSE, Liberia is looking for a highly motivated volunteer to work with our staff and members on the ground. Participate in the operation of our community clinic, adult literacy classes for market women and demonstration agricultural programs. If you have lived in Africa or a country in the developing world; if you have good organizational skills and an interest in community development and social justice, then you should consider this exceptional position.
Volunteer should have:
- lived, gone to school or worked in a developing country
- should be friendly, capable, patient and a good communicator
- should be hard working, have good organizational skills and a willingness to work closely with Liberians and the IMANI HOUSE office in New York
- have an understanding of social justice issues and the root causes of poverty
- be able to pay their own expenses
- must be able to commit to at least six (6) consecutive months on the ground in Liberia
Position is available effective February, 2008. IHI supplies a safe decent home to live in, and a great opportunity to participate and learn first hand how a non-profit in the developing world operates, while helping to develop the skills and abilities of Liberians.
